How GREEN is possible?
The Axcend Focus LC® nano pumping system and on-column detector requires very small qunatities of sample and mobile phase solvents for analysis lending it to be GREEN by default.  Green chemistry, also called sustainable chemistry, is an area of chemistry and chemical engineering focused on the design of products and processes that minimize or eliminate the use and generation of hazardous substances. One of the principles of Green Chemistry is to prevent waste creation. Traditional  HPLC’s are viewed as solvent intensive devices. With flow rates of 0.5-1 mL/minute, a typical HPLC consumes copious amounts of organic solvents.  Many of which are hazardous and costly to discard.  At Axcend, we offer an alternative with the Axcend Focus LC® that generates only 1.5 mL of solvent waste  in a 24-hour period. It is a portable, fully self-contained HPLC weighing less than 8 kg that consumes less than 1.5 mL’s of solvent in a 24-hour period!
